Fairy Bluebell.
Once upon a time, in a forest deep in the heart of England there lived a fairy named Bluebell. It was her job to check all the bluebells when they were in bloom to make sure they were just the right colour. Every morning during bluebell season she would fly from flower to flower. Very occasionally there would appear a white or sometimes a pink flower. Bluebell would wave her magic wand and the colour would change to the proper colour blue.

One day Bluebell flew off to check the forest and Oh dear, whatever had happened? All of the bluebells had turned yellow. Now you simply can't have a yellow bluebell can you? Bluebell was horrified. What was wrong? She started to wave her wand and change all the flowers back to blue again. There were an awful lot of them and by the time she had finished Bluebell was very, very tired. So tired that she lay down under a large leaf and fell fast asleep. So tired had she been that she didn't wake up until the next morning.

Oh my goodness. All of the flowers were now bright orange. She didn't understand what was going on but she set to work once again and waving her wand changed all the flowers once more to blue. Again, so tired was she that she slept under the leaf again. Some time, just as dawn was breaking, a noise woke her up. What was that noise? She listened and realised that it was whispering and giggling. She peeked out from under the leaf to see two little elves.

Somewhere these elves had found a fairy wand and they were going around changing the colour of the bluebells again, this time to green. Bluebell was SO cross. SO angry. She flew out from under the leaf and quickly snatched the wand from them. Then, with a flick of her own wand she turned the elves into frogs. That will teach them, she thought. All that day they hopped around the forest while Bluebell changed back the flowers again. Late that day, just before it began to get dark, Bluebell decided that they had been punished enough.

So with a wave of her wand she changed them back to elves again but, just so they didn't forget their punishment and think of being naughty again, she put a green spot right in the middle of their foreheads which would not fade until the last of the bluebells had gone at the end of Spring.

So remember, never play tricks on a fairy, or you too, could end up with a green spot on your forehead.

The End.
